Ready for a contest?

Are you excited for the release of the Gryffindors video? We certainly are! That’s why we want to give away this amazing handmade Gryffindor blanket, made by three of the wonderful extras in the video: Natalie, Kelly, and Ellie, and featured in the music video!

Here’s some secret information about the video—it features some Gryffindors casting patronuses! So what we want you to do for this contest is to make a short video about your patronus! Sound fun? We think so, too! So let’s get into the details.

Deadline: January 31, 2013 at 11:59:59 PM, Mountain Time

Content: This video should illustrate to us in some way what your patronus is/would be. You can explain to us in the video, show us a picture you’ve made, video a short performance—whatever you want! We will judge based on creativity and effort, not on what animal your patronus is, so do your very, very best! The video should be uploaded to Youtube and should be under two minutes long.

Submission: To submit your entry, email the link to your video to contact@not-literally.com. Your email must be received by the deadline or your entry will not be considered for the prize.

Winners: There will be one winner of the blanket, but Dana and Ginny may choose additional winners of other prizes if we are impressed by the submissions. Winners will be selected and announced after the deadline. Stay tuned to our social media for updates.

This is so cool! Because here at Hogwarts, we just learned uor patronuses on Monday! Mine is the Orange Lion Tamarin Monkey Patronus! Try saying THAT ten times fast! I’ll post the video as soon as possible. I come from a magic family though, so I’ll have some trouble with the muggle vidoo cemera… Expecto Patronum!

  Oh, my! My patronus is a Maned wolf, from Brazil just like yours! Also I’m a Hufflepuff, as I assume you are. We totally should have patronus parties with brigadeiro anytime!

Interesting. That would explain why its mostly Gryffindors that are applying for the contest. I can’t imagine what use any of the other houses would have for such a blanket. (Also, I find it interesting to note, that my spell check for “Gryffindors” wanted to substitute “Rangefinders”. It makes me want to speculate how the two would go together… but that is just the Ravenclaw in me, I do suppose. )

  This contest is to launch the Gryffindors music video, so yes, it is a Gryffindor blanket, just like all the smaller giveaways and contests centered around the Hufflepuff video featured Hufflepuff-themed merchandise. You will have your chance to win Ravenclaw-themed merchandise when the Ravenclaw video comes out this coming year. Meanwhile, though, I can think of plenty of lovely Gryffindor friends I have who would love to receive this blanket as a present, and I’m sure all the non-Gryffindor entrants can, too. C:

  I’m a Slytherin, and a Gryffindor blanket is just as good at keeping me warm as a Slytherin one is!
